NGT asks Meghalaya government to submit report on coal mining The National Green Tribunal on Thursday directed the Meghalaya government to submit a complete report adopted for the purpose of promoting scientific and permissible mining of coal which was banned since April last year. The last two auctions had to be cancelled as there were no companies willing to take up mining. Out of eight phases of auction in 2018, five were cancelled again as there were no buyers.
